Global Communities seeks a Director of Risk Management (DRM) to lead our Enterprise Risk Management program and ensure that our organization is able to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with our operations and programs worldwide. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Risk Management will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies to ensure the safety and security of our staff, assets, partners and communities.
This role is designed to support Global Communities’ commitment to organizational excellence which includes effectively managing risks, including reputational, financial, and operational, based on the Global Communities risk taxonomy. By designing and delivering a coordinated risk management program that will strengthen our effectiveness, ensure accountability, and promote transparency to our participants, communities, and clients, we will ultimately be better placed to realize our mission. Lead the organization's crisis management and business continuity planning efforts, including the development and testing of contingency plan and serve as the primary point of contact for risk management-related inquiries and issues, both internally and externally
The DRM will strengthen and promote a risk management culture across the organization and design policies, practices, and procedures to support robust risk management mitigation strategies with a diverse set of key stakeholders across the global organization.
The role works in consultation with other key internal stakeholders across the organization including in Global Programs, Finance, People & Culture, Communications, IT, Safety & Security and Grants & Contracts offices.

Location and Work Schedule
This selected candidate can be based in Silver Spring, MD. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without any restriction. This role is on a hybrid/telework schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work at least twice as week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) from either our San Diego or Silver Spring office and the remainder of the week from an approved remote location.
Salary and Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is between $113,902-156,615. Final salary will be based on several factors including qualifications, geographic location, experience, and internal equity. Global Communities provides a comprehensive benefits package; please note that this position is not eligible for allowances.
