The Associate supports business development research and proposal development across the Sustainable Development portfolio. The Associate will lead daily opportunity tracking (identifying, reviewing, entering, circulating, and updating new funding opportunities for Global Communities), conduct online research to help prepare for upcoming opportunities, and support proposal development under the direction of an assigned Proposal Manager. The Associate will coordinate with headquarters and field staff. This role requires passion for international development, resourcefulness, skills as a self-starter, detail orientation, analytical thinking, the ability to prioritize multiple competing requests, and proactive synthesizing of information.

This includes coordinating the CIO's schedule, acting as a liaison between the CIO and stakeholders, and preparing correspondence and presentations with precision and professionalism. Additionally, the role oversees IT procurement processes, vendor relationships, budget management, and staff training on procurement procedures and best practices, ensuring the smooth functioning of the IT department through effective management of administrative tasks and procurement activities.   PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Coordinate and manage the CIO's schedule, including meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements. - Act as a liaison between the CIO and internal/external stakeholders, responding to emails, calls, and requests on behalf of the CIO. - Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations for the CIO, ensuring accuracy and professionalism. - Arrange and organize meetings, conferences, and events, including logistics, agendas, and follow-up activities. - Maintain confidential information with discretion and integrity, ensuring data is organized and easily accessible. - Coordinate travel arrangements, accommodations, and itineraries for the CIO. Maintain IT Contracts - Assign and remove licenses and subscriptions as submitted and approved though ticket management system. Prepare license reports for internal billing. Manage the lifecycle of licenses and subscriptions including renewals and new agreements. - Maintain relationships with IT vendors, ensuring timely delivery of products and services. Collaborate with the CIO in negotiating contracts and agreements. - Collaborate with the Finance Department on procurement matters, including processing purchase orders, tracking expenses, and reconciling accounts payable. - Assist the CIO in monitoring and managing the budget for the information technology department, providing regular updates on expenditures and variances. - Maintain accurate records of IT procurement activities and ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. - Conduct training sessions for staff on IT procurement processes and best practices. Keep the team informed about relevant policies and procedures. - Develop andmaintain IT asset procedures for managing the lifecycle of all IT equipment. Perform annual IT asset audit. Acts as liaison between Financial Auditors and IT for IT asset reporting. The Housing Navigator will conduct tele-health and in-person visits to clients throughout San Diego County, assess housing needs, make appropriate referrals, and provide information regarding related programs and services. The Housing Navigator assess opportunities for housing assistance and rental subsidy programs, and related activities required to secure temporary and/or permanent housing placement. The Housing Navigator will work under direction of the CHW Program Director. This project is embedded in a suite of programs designed to address disparities for Black, American Indian and Alaska Native, Pacific Islander and refugee/asylum seeking communities. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Risk Management will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies to ensure the safety and security of our staff, assets, partners and communities. This role is designed to support Global Communities’ commitment to organizational excellence which includes effectively managing risks, including reputational, financial, and operational, based on the Global Communities risk taxonomy.  By designing and delivering a coordinated risk management program that will strengthen our effectiveness, ensure accountability, and promote transparency to our participants, communities, and clients, we will ultimately be better placed to realize our mission. Lead the organization's crisis management and business continuity planning efforts, including the development and testing of contingency plan and serve as the primary point of contact for risk management-related inquiries and issues, both internally and externally     The DRM will strengthen and promote a risk management culture across the organization and design policies, practices, and procedures to support robust risk management mitigation strategies with a diverse set of key stakeholders across the global organization.   The role works in consultation with other key internal stakeholders across the organization including in Global Programs, Finance, People & Culture, Communications, IT, Safety & Security and Grants & Contracts offices.

The intern will be expected to coordinate remotely through regular video conference check-ins, and to receive and promptly complete projects as assigned.

S/he plays a technical leadership role in defining and advancing learning priorities and processes at the organizational and project levels and provides MEL related technical support to new, existing, and closing programs.

Background Information   Global Communities (GC) is prepare a bid in response to the anticipated USDA funding opportunity for the McGovern-Dole Food for Education Program (MGD). GC is seeking a consultant to lead the development of the proposal’s MEL section. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing donor technical guidance, existing GC documentation, consulting closely with country-based staff and/or consultants, and supporting new inputs from formative work and project design, to develop submission ready products in line with the SOW below. GC seeks a consultant for up to a maximum of 40 days of effort to begin in late 2023 or early 2024, with the heaviest LOE taking place during the live proposal period between approximately mid-February and mid-May 2024.     About the Consultancy   Scope of Work - Review and ensure familiarity with core USDA McGovern-Dole Technical and Proposal Guidance Documents, including: - USDA McGovern Dole Learning Agenda - USDA MGD Food Assistance Indicators and Definitions - USDA standard Results Framework for McGovern-Dole and LRP - Review USDA’s FY23 Results Framework - FY23 Monitoring Eval & Reporting guidance - RFP/NOFO for FY24 Proposals - Review key past GC MGD Proposals and technical documents and identify areas for updating and/or strengthening. Review summary of USDA feedback on GC’s former proposal submissions and MEL documents, including evaluation reports. - As needed and dependent on the target geographic area identified in the final solicitation, lead activities to update formative assessment to inform proposal design and targeting. Plan for and lead M&E sessions in the Design Workshop, including presentation and dissemination of formative assessment results, overview of USDA learning agenda questions and M&E requirements, development of results framework, creation of Theory of Change (ToC), creation of learning agenda. - Draft M&E and proposal components, in collaboration/coordination with the proposal design team, including Results Framework diagram and supporting narrative, project indicators and targets, including Indicator Table, Evaluation Plan (including the learningagenda); and define key resources needed for M&E budget, including: - Review existing M&E systems and recommend any required changes if necessary to platforms, tools, and /or approach - Review/update current staffing and partnerships to implement MEL Plan - Participate in ongoing coordination calls and meetings with the proposal design team and GC MELI team. The Sr Advisor, Humanitarian Response will support GC ‘s ongoing efforts to build out its ability to effectively prepare for and respond to humanitarian crises worldwide. The Sr Advisor, Humanitarian Response will lead specific workstreams in the development of GC’s protocol for emergency response and support high priority country teams in preparing for and responding to humanitarian crises. The Vice President, Program Operations and Delivery shares overall leadership responsibility as part of the Global Programs Leadership Team and the Senior Executive Team setting the vision, strategic direction and solution creation for Global Communities. With a primary emphasis on ensuring excellence in program implementation in Country Teams and Headquarters Program Support Teams, the Vice President will be a key contributor to the organizational changes that Global Communities envisages in more closely aligning its sustainable development, humanitarian, conflict and post-conflict work activities in fragile and complex environments. Currently, this position oversees regional program teams for Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), and the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and Asia (MEENA).   The Vice President is accountable for all aspects of program implementation, directly supervising Senior Regional Directors, who in turn supervise program management teams and field-based leaders including Country Directors and Chiefs of Party. The VP is accountable for the development and implementation of country plans, ensuring that country support and growth plans are informed by each context and organizational new business development strategies in pursuit of program excellence.   The Vice President will work in close coordination with the Vice Presidents of Program Quality and Accountability (VP, PQA) and Business Development (VP, BD) to ensure coordination and complementarity of all program quality, representation and external engagement opportunities.
